JUST.BATHE Charity Gaining Media Attention - 16.07.26

JUST.BATHE was recently featured in a BBC News interview, helping to raise awareness of our mission to support families facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Every opportunity to share our story helps more people learn about the difference a simple JUST.BATHE box can make to relatives of critically ill patients. Increased media coverage also helps us reach more hospitals, supporters, volunteers and potential donors, enabling us to expand our work across the UK.

We are incredibly grateful to the BBC for providing a platform to highlight our cause and to everyone who continues to support JUST.BATHE. Together, we can ensure more families receive comfort and dignity when they need it most. Timestamps: 13:48 / 24:18

JUST.BATHE Story Article - 09.06.26

If you would like to find out more about Steph’s story and the reasons behind her family’s decision to create support for others going through similar experiences, here is a snippet from the article:

Steph said her son suffered a catastrophic brain injury after his car flipped off the edge of an embankment and hit a stone wall at the bottom. In hospital, doctors eventually turned off the machines. She described how they “witnessed, for two hours, him dying in front of us,” adding that no parent should have to go through that. She also spoke about the deeply emotional moment of wanting to care for him one last time, and how limited hospital resources inspired the family to create care packages for other grieving families.

Annual Permanent Fixture - Bereavement Liaison Team Conference - 20.10.26

Next Conference scheduled for 20th October 2026 Salford Royal Hospital

On 29th November 2024, JUST.BATHE had the honour of being invited for the first time to The Swan Bereavement Conference. This opportunity allowed us to present our JUST.BATHE boxes to a group of health professionals from the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, which encompasses four Care Organisations across Salford, Oldham, Bury, and Rochdale.

This event was a significant opportunity for us to share our work with those who play a vital role in supporting families during their most challenging moments. The audience, made up of professionals from Accident and Emergency and Intensive Care Units, gave us invaluable feedback on the importance of these boxes in offering care and compassion to grieving families.

We have now been invited as regular guests attending again on 27th February 2026. Hearing directly from nurses about how much the boxes are needed on these critical units was both humbling and inspiring. It reinforced the value of what we do and encouraged us to continue expanding our reach to more hospitals and care facilities. The enthusiastic reception we received from the audience not only validated our efforts but also motivated us to keep working towards our goal of supporting every family in need.

JUST.BATHE will be at the next conference on 20th October 2026.

“Hello I just wanted to thank you for your kind donation to our hospital. Today we had some parents who sadly lost their child. They were so touched by the box, and being encouraged to give some care. It really made a difference to their experience. Thankyou.”

“The JUST.BATHE boxes have made a genuinely meaningful difference on our ward. In moments where there are so few words and very little we can offer, these boxes provide something tangible — a sense of care, dignity, and compassion. Families have responded so positively, and it allows us as staff to support them in a more thoughtful and sensitive way. We are truly grateful for the impact they are having.”

The bowl is beautiful and it is the shape of a baby bath. So it reminds me of bathing my baby. This will be so meaningful for a parent bathing their child one last time.”

As an Intensive Care Consultant working in the NHS, I see every day what serious illness takes from people — their routine, their dignity, their sense of self. JustBathe gives something of that back. There's nothing complicated about what they do, and that's exactly the point. A small act of care, delivered at the right moment, can matter enormously to a patient or family in crisis.

What Steph and her team have built comes from the deepest kind of understanding — the kind that only comes from personal loss. That's why it works. It's not a corporate initiative or a tick-box exercise. It's a mother who lost her son, turning grief into something that reaches people at their most vulnerable and says: you are seen, you matter, we’re thinking of you.

It always astonishes me that people, in circumstances difficult for most of us to imagine, can show such generosity to others.

I'm proud to stand behind JustBathe.
