What We Do
At JUST.BATHE, we are dedicated to supporting families enduring the heart-wrenching experience of losing a child. Our mission is to provide comfort and compassion during their most vulnerable moments. We do this by offering specially designed bathing packs to hospitals, which enable parents to lovingly bathe and care for their child one last time. These packs are thoughtfully curated to ensure that parents can create a peaceful and meaningful farewell, fostering a sense of connection and honouring the bond they share. Through this simple yet profound act of care, we hope to bring solace to grieving families, helping them navigate an unimaginable loss .

Mission:
At JUST.BATHE, our mission is to bring compassion, dignity, and support to parents facing the unimaginable heartbreak of losing a child. Founded by Dr. Steph Alger after the tragic loss of her own child, we are dedicated to providing essential bathing packs to hospitals, ensuring that parents have the resources to share tender, meaningful moments with their child in their final hours. Through our work, we aim to ease a small part of their pain by enabling acts of love, care, and connection when words cannot suffice.
Vision:
We envision a world where no parent faces the loss of a child without the resources and support they need to honour their child's life with dignity and love. Just Bathe are dedicated to ensuring parents can create cherished final moments amidst their grief.

Our Story:
JUST.BATHE was founded by Dr. Steph Alger, a mother and who experienced the devastating loss of her son in a tragic car accident. In the midst of her grief, Dr. Steph recognised the profound and instinctive importance of small, meaningful acts of care during the final moments with her child.
Inspired by her personal journey, Dr. Steph created JUST.BATHE to ensure that no parent facing such unimaginable loss would be without the resources to do the same. Our charity provides thoughtfully designed bathing packs to hospitals, giving parents the tools to ‘bathe’ their child creating a meaningful goodbye.
Through JUST.BATHE her son’s legacy lives on.
Hospitals We Have Reached
Today, we made another delivery to Stepping Hill Hospital, a place that holds deep personal meaning for us as family members have passed away there in recent years. The experience was especially significant, and we were warmly welcomed by Lisa, the wonderful Ward Manager. Her kindness made the delivery even more meaningful, and it reminded us of the importance of giving back to a place that has had such an impact on our lives. We're grateful for the opportunity to contribute and for the warm reception we received.

Two Deliveries in One Day! Aintree University Hospital & Royal Liverpool University Hospital – 19.01.26
We’ve started the new year on a high with two hospital deliveries in one day, supplying a total of 30 boxes to Aintree University Hospital and Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
We had the pleasure of meeting some truly wonderful nurses on the critical care wards, who shared just how valuable and needed the JUST.BATHE resources are for their patients. The warmth, encouragement and gratitude we received meant a great deal to our team.
We’re also proud to say that we’ve been listening closely to feedback from the hospitals we support. Based on their requests, today’s deliveries included much-needed packs of hair ties and bands — small essentials that make a big difference to patient comfort and dignity.
Thank you to the incredible NHS staff who welcomed us so warmly. We’re honoured to support the amazing work you do every day.

Another Delivery - The Countess Of Chester Hospital – 7.10.25
We were so pleased to visit and meet the incredible staff at The Countess of Chester Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. It was truly inspiring to see the dedication and compassion they show every single day.
During our visit, we heard first-hand how much of a difference these much-needed resources will make for parents facing one of the most unimaginable experiences — the loss of a child. Knowing that our support can help bring even a small amount of comfort during such a heartbreaking time reminds us exactly why this work matters so deeply.

Our boxes arrived at Macclesfield District General Hospital - 18.09.25
We’re so excited to share some wonderful news — this week we delivered the very first JUST.BATHE boxes to our local hospital, Macclesfield District General.
When we arrived, we were welcomed by two incredible ladies from the Intensive Care Unit, who couldn’t have been more grateful for the resources. They explained how much these simple supplies mean to both the staff and the patients, especially in such a demanding environment where certain essentials are often difficult to come by.
Seeing their appreciation reminded us exactly why we started this charity in the first place — to support our local NHS teams and provide practical items that really make a difference day to day.
This is only the beginning, and moving forward we’re determined to make sure that hospitals like Macclesfield can continue receiving the supplies they need, when they need them. With your support, we’ll be able to expand this project and reach even more wards and hospitals in the months ahead.
Thank you to everyone who has helped us get this far — your encouragement means the world, and together we’re proving that small acts of care can create a big impact.

These deliveries have only been made possible thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our supporters. Every donation truly makes a difference — thank you for helping us bring comfort and care to those who need it most.

Delivering Comfort to The Royal Oldham Hospital – 30.12.24
On 30th December 2024, JUST.BATHE had the privilege of delivering ten of our specially curated boxes to the Critical Care Unit at The Royal Oldham Hospital. These boxes, designed to provide comfort and dignity to parents during their most challenging moments, were warmly received by the hospital staff.
We were greeted by Ward Sisters Rachel Allen and Maxine Cregan, who expressed their appreciation for the work we do and the impact these boxes will have on grieving families. Their support and enthusiasm remind us of the importance of collaboration with healthcare professionals in ensuring these resources reach the families who need them most.
The photograph here captures this special moment, featuring JUST.BATHE founder Dr. Steph Alger alongside Rachel and Maxine. We are deeply grateful for their kind reception and for allowing us to further our mission at The Royal Oldham Hospital. Moments like these inspire us to continue expanding our reach and offering compassion and care to more families.
Thank you to everyone who helps make deliveries like this possible. Together, we can make a real difference.

Fulfilling our promise to Salford Royal Hospital- 28.03.25
On 28th March 2025, JUST.BATHE were honoured to be invited to Salford Royal Hospital to deliver care boxes to the Critical Care Unit (CCU). This special invitation came from Matron and Ward Manager Natalie Bamford, who warmly welcomed us to the ward.
This visit held profound personal significance for JUST.BATHE'S founder, Dr. Steph Alger. It was at Salford Royal Hospital in 2020 that Dr. Alger’s beloved son sadly passed away. Returning to the very ward where such deep loss was experienced was an emotional journey for Dr. Alger and her husband, Mr. Alger. Their strength and dedication to transforming their grief into a mission of support for others is at the very heart of JUST.BATHE.
During our visit, we were deeply touched to read the heartfelt feedback notes from the CCU staff and to hear first-hand how, until now, they have been purchasing essential comfort items for patients out of their own wages. We are incredibly proud that moving forward, JUST.BATHE will be supplying these much-needed care items, helping to ease both the burden on staff and the experience of patients during their most vulnerable times.
We are also excited to share that a journalist from LBC (Leading Britain’s Conversation) and Global Radio accompanied Dr. and Mr. Alger during this poignant visit. Their support is helping to shine a light on the vital work JUST.BATHE is doing and to share our story with a much wider audience. We hope that through this media coverage, we can inspire others, raise greater awareness of the critical need for care and comfort in hospitals, and encourage support for our growing mission.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Salford Royal Hospital, Natalie Bamford and her incredible CCU team, and our media partners for their compassion and support. Together, we are making a meaningful difference — one care box at a time.

We were delighted to have hosted the JUST.BATHE Live Band & Casino Night, which took place on Friday 21st November 2025 at The Tytherington Club. It became one of the biggest and most memorable nights of the year for our charity — an evening filled with music, laughter, and generosity, all in support of the vital work we carried out in hospitals and the wider community.
The night featured fantastic live performances from an incredible band, which kept the atmosphere buzzing throughout the evening, alongside the excitement of a glamorous casino-style experience. Guests enjoyed blackjack, roulette, and other classic games, playing purely for fun with casino chips provided. The room was filled with energy as everyone embraced the chance to dress up, celebrate, and give back to a cause that mattered deeply.
Guests were welcomed with complimentary drinks on arrival, followed by delicious canapés and beautifully prepared grazing boards throughout the night. A fully stocked cash bar was available, while the raffle and auction added an extra layer of excitement, with brilliant prizes generously donated in support of JUST.BATHE.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who attended, £4,533 was raised. The night was not just about entertainment; it was about impact, appreciation, and community. We were grateful to everyone who helped make the event such a success, and more events were already planned and in development, allowing us to continue bringing people together to make a real difference.
